School days are generally said to be the happiest days of our lives. Those wonderful days have left us with a plethora of recollections. But, if school days are the best days of your life, college days are an extension of that golden period, with the added benefit of ‘experience.’

College not only prepares you for the professional world, but it also teaches you a variety of other life lessons. And if you’ve ever stayed in a hostel during your college years, you know how much of a roller coaster ride it can be.

And this is the central premise of Shubham Gaur, Adarsh Gourav, Luv Vispute, Nikhil Vijay, Ahsaas Channa, Harsha Chemudu, Ayushi Gupta, and Sahil Verma’s second season of Hostel Daze. To be clear, the comic drama is the long-awaited sequel to Hostel Daze, which was released in 2019.

The second season, on the other hand, brings a new level of humour and drama. After all, the first-year freshmen are now in their second year and have a lot of adventures ahead of them, including greeting their juniors.

The first episode shows how the now-seniors greet the freshmen by ragging in a funny and Gen Z-like manner. The 30-minute episode was full of humorous scenes in which the seniors pranked newcomers in the hostel, exposing their uneasiness. With their performances, Nikhil Vijay alias Jhantoo, Adarsh Gourav, and Ankit ‘Dopa’ Pandey added to the comic content.

Ahsaas Channa aka Akansha and Ayushi Gupta aka Nabomita, on the other hand, did an excellent job portraying their characters while providing an inside look at the ‘deadly’ females dormitory. Not to mention DISCO (don’t go by the quirky name) aka Disciplinary Committee, which adds a new dimension to the show.

The hilarity continues in the 30-minute episodes, which cover topics such as love triangles, bro codes, sis codes, getting over breakups, leaving the hostel, and much more.

While each episode explores a different aspect of dorm life, the way the creators come up with a plot twist at the end of each episode while retaining the humour quotient is commendable.

Overall, Hostel Daze season 2 will remind you of films such as 3 Idiots, Chhichhore, and others. However, this online comedy focuses on life at a hostel, with unusual twists and amusing punchlines that we can all relate to.

So, if you want to relive those golden hostel days, Hostel Daze season 2 is the perfect nostalgia ride for you, and it will undoubtedly prompt you to schedule a reunion with your hostel pals.
